The Chief People Officers Syndicate

Introducing The CEO Institute's exclusive CPO Syndicate

Who supports our people leaders?

The role of a Chief People Officer has never been more critical – or more complex. Beyond driving culture and talent strategy, today’s CPOs are shaping business strategy, influencing CEOs and boards, and even stepping into CEO and non-executive director (NED) roles.

Yet, many CPOs find themselves facing this evolution alone, without the same peer support, strategic mentorship, or development pathways available to other C-suite executives.

That’s why we’ve created The CPO Syndicate – an exclusive, confidential forum designed specifically for enterprise-level CPOs from non-competing industries to:

  • Share insights and experiences with peers who truly understand your challenges.
  • Get real-time problem-solving support from a group of senior leaders invested in your success.
  • Gain expert guidance from an experienced chair who has navigated high-stakes leadership roles.
Give your team a competitive edge

Dr Harley Aish

Dr Harley Aish

Harley Aish started his professional career as a General Practitioner in Otara, South Auckland, in 1997, and still consults with patients most weeks. After two years, he was invited to leadership roles in Health Governance, followed 13 years later with an invitation to move into Financial Services (MAS). His experience includes governing "not for profit" organisations, listed "for profit" organisations, crown entities, collective negotiating teams, and charitable organisations.

Being in the Health sector for 30 years, he has seen three health reforms, and multiple tweaks, giving him an appreciation for well led and managed transformation. In this time, he has observed Information Technology moving from basic writing and health notes, to AI assisted scribes, decision support, real time form submission, and referrals going from fax to e-referrals, for which he was on the advisory committee. Harley has in later years added teaching in General Practice to his portfolio, for both General Practice Registrars, as well as in-training Nurse Practitioners.
