Steve began his career in education which culminated in him becoming the CEO of the Centre for Excellence in Teaching, providing professional development to WA's 30,000 teachers.
Steve's career in the Australian Army Reserve ran parallel and he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel where he was the Commanding Officer of the 16th Battalion, Royal Western Australian Regiment.
Through his work with Team Smart, Steve specialises in the design, development and implementation of strengths-based professional learning and effective change. He has worked with a range of clients, across areas such as financial services, information technology, government authorities, agriculture, health, elite sport, and oil and mining. The development of top class leadership through personal coaching has been central to most programs.
Steve consults to business and sport in the areas of leadership and reaching human and corporate potential. His experience in reviewing organisations and developing improvement strategies includes Woodside, Chevron, BHP, West Coast Eagles, WA Institute of Sport, East Fremantle Football Club, Blueprint Homes and Beaumonde Catering. His current area of focus is agriculture, working with a number of large farms situated from Borden right up to Mullewa, and an agricultural machinery company based in Albany.
