We will be bringing together some of the country’s most recognised business leaders including Miles Hurrell, celebrated sports icon former All Blacks captain Sean Fitzpatrick, and senior figures including Police Commissioner Richard Chambers.

Vittoria Shortt-1

Vittoria Shortt

Vittoria Shortt has been Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of ASB Bank since February 2018, leading a team of more than 6,500 people. She is committed to accelerating progress for all New Zealanders, focusing on the social, environmental, and financial wellbeing of customers and communities, while building on ASB’s 178-year history of resilience and sustainability.

With over 20 years’ banking experience, Vittoria joined ASB’s parent company, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, in 2002, after beginning her career in corporate finance and M&A with Deloitte and Carter Holt Harvey. She holds a Bachelor of Management Studies in Accounting and Finance from Waikato University, is a Fellow Chartered Accountant, and an active member of Global Women NZ and Chief Executive Women Australia, advocating for diversity, inclusion, and mentoring women.

Sean Fitzpatrick

Sean Fitzpatrick

Sean Fitzpatrick is regarded as one of the greatest rugby players of all time. Renowned for his durability and dominance at hooker, he achieved a world-record 63 consecutive test appearances for New Zealand, captaining the All Blacks until his retirement in 1997. His career included eight National Provincial Championships, a World Cup win, and recognition as one of New Zealand’s top 10 players in history.

Following rugby, Sean became a respected broadcaster, covering every World Cup since 1999, and authored Winning Matters. He now leads a sport-to-business leadership company, sharing principles of resilience and performance with executives. Sean is Chairman of the Laureus World Sports Academy, serves on the boards of Harlequins and Scarlets, and was awarded the New Zealand Order of Merit in 1997.

 

Miles Hurrell-1

Miles Hurrell

Miles was appointed Chief Executive in 2018, responsible for leading the organisation’s strategy, financial performance, and engagement with farmer owners, employees, customers, and shareholders. Under his leadership, the Co-operative has entered a new growth phase centred on New Zealand’s pasture-based milk, dairy innovation, science, and sustainability.

Previously, Miles was Chief Operating Officer, Farm Source, overseeing farmer services, milk sourcing, and 70 retail stores. He also served as Group Co-operative Affairs Director and General Manager for the Middle East, Africa, Russia, and Eastern Europe, delivering strong regional growth. Earlier roles included General Manager of Global Sourcing. Miles has completed executive programmes at INSEAD, London Business School, Kellogg’s NorthWestern University, and IMD Switzerland.

Nadine Terreroa-1

Nadine Tereora

Nadine Tereora became Chief Executive Officer of the New Zealand Automobile Association (AA) in February 2022. Established in 1903, the AA is one of New Zealand’s largest membership organisations, providing services to 1.1 million personal Members and roadside support for another 1 million vehicles through business partnerships. Beyond membership, the AA advocates for road users, champions safety, and offers mobility, insurance, home and financial services.

Nadine brings extensive leadership experience from the insurance industry, having served as COO of Partners Life, CEO of Fidelity Life, and CEO of Asteron Life. Known as a warm, authentic leader, she fosters an inclusive culture where employees thrive and deliver outstanding service, ensuring the AA maintains its special place with New Zealanders.

Commissioner Chambers-1

Commissioner Richard Chambers

Richard Chambers became Commissioner of New Zealand Police in November 2024. Since joining Police in 1996, he has held diverse leadership roles including District Commander, Assistant Commissioner for Investigations and Serious Crime, and national controller for major operations like Operation Convoy and Cyclone Gabrielle.

He also served with INTERPOL in France, focusing on global crime strategy. Richard is committed to staff wellbeing, community engagement, and operational excellence. He holds an Executive Masters in Public Administration and a Bachelor of Commerce.

Nick Sautner

Nick Sautner

Nick Sautner is the Chief Executive of Eden Park, winner of Venue of the Year at TheStadiumBusiness Summit 2024. A respected leader in the global stadium and events industry, Nick was recognised as Executive of the Year and Supreme Venue Person of the Year at the EVANZ Awards 2019 and also received Executive of the Year at TheStadiumBusiness Summit 2019. He is a Certified Venue Executive (IAVM). 
 
With over 20 years’ experience across Australasian venues, Nick brings deep expertise in stadium economics, fan engagement, and commercial innovation. His leadership has transformed Eden Park into a world-class, multi-purpose venue known for its community focus and pioneering approach to non-traditional event formats.

Kereyn Smith-1

Kereyn Smith CNZM

Kereyn has significant experience in governance and leadership roles within New Zealand and international settings.

These roles span education, sports organisations, the oversight of complex global projects and mega/major events.

Kereyn has experience in developing high performance systems and cultures, is a global advocate for gender equality and inclusion and loves to empower and support leaders in their development.

In her most recent executive role, Kereyn was CEO of the New Zealand Olympic Committee (NZOC), during a time of unprecedented growth and success for New Zealand on the world stage.

Jason Boyes

Jason Boyes

Jason is Chief Executive and a non-independent director of Infratil, having joined the board in April 2021. Jason leads and oversees the development and implementation of Infratil’s strategy, and the management of Infratil’s investments.

Jason is a Partner at Morrison which he joined in 2011 following a 15-year legal career in corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions in New Zealand and London. His past roles at Morrison include Head of Legal, Chief Commercial Officer, Chief Financial Officer, and Head of Europe. Jason is a director of Longroad Energy and CDC.

Sir Russell Coutts

Sir Russell Coutts

Sir Russell Coutts is Chief Executive Officer of SailGP, a global championship established in 2018 with Oracle Founder Larry Ellison. After getting into sailing at a young age, Coutts went on to become the most successful helmsman in America’s Cup history, winning sailing’s most prestigious trophy five times. He won gold at the 1984 Olympic Games, is a 12-time world champion and two-time world sailor of the year.

Having served as Chief Executive of the America’s Cup Event Authority in 2017, Coutts’ leadership has been instrumental in the rapid growth of SailGP, the most exciting race on water which features cutting-edge technology, ultra-fast foiling catamarans, and a brand of racing designed to increase the sport’s mainstream popularity.

Seeking to redefine sailing on a global scale, but not placing the series as a direct rival to the America’s Cup, Coutts has instead compared SailGP to Formula One and is committed to seeing it prove worthy of such status.

Monique Cairns

Monique Cairns

Monique Cairns is an accomplished Independent Director and Business Advisor with a track record of leading through change to deliver stakeholder value.  

She is currently Independent Chair of 30 Seconds Group, Deputy Chair of NZ Home Loans, and an Independent Director of Harmoney and Younity (Ingenium Group).

Monique also serves as a Trustee of the NZ Portrait Gallery and Chairs the Art Committee at The Northern Club. Through her advisory firm, Caribou, she helps organisations with a focus on strategy, risk, CEO performance, culture, customer focus and stakeholder outcomes. 

Monique's experience spans a wide range of organisations from NFPs, start-ups, local and central government, SMEs to large corporates, privately owned to listed, along with diverse industries and complexities. 

David Kirk

David Kirk

David is the Co-Founder and Chair of Bailador Technology Investments, an ASX-listed investment fund investing in private expansion stage technology companies. He is a Director of several Bailador investee companies. 
 
David is Chair of KMD Brands [ASX:KMD, NZ:KMD], the holding company for brands Kathmandu, Rip Curl and Oboz, Chair of Forsyth Barr, a privately-owned New Zealand investment firm, and Chair of New Zealand Rugby. He has also chaired several non-for-profit entities. 
 
David is the former CEO of two public companies, PMP Ltd and Fairfax Media Ltd. Prior to joining the corporate world David enjoyed a highly successful rugby career. David captained the All Blacks to win the World Cup in 1987 and was awarded an MBE in 1988. He was also Chief Policy Advisor to New Zealand Prime Minister, Hon. Jim Bolger.
 
David is a Rhodes Scholar with degrees in Medicine from Otago University, and Philosophy, Politics and Economics from Oxford University.

Bernie

Bernice Mene MNZM

Bernice Mene MNZM. A former Silver Ferns captain and Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit, Bernice brings insights from elite and community sport into business leadership.

Bernice is Chief People Officer at AutoDriveHoldings, driving culture transformation, talent strategy, and leadership coaching across major automotive brands. Her governance experience includes chairing boards such as the NZ Olympic Committee Education Commission, alongside roles in education, youth development, and the arts.

Passionate about community impact, Bernice helps CEOs and boards unlock potential, navigate complexity, and lead with purpose.  She also channels this expertise into sports coaching to shape future leaders on and off the field.

Kip Hanna

Kip Hanna

Kip (Ngāti Ranginui) is a financial services executive with 30 years broad international experience (NZ, Australia, UK and Asia Pacific) with leading banks and advisory firms. Kip is a passionate collaborative leader successful in transforming businesses.

Kip’s successfully led large scale banking operations and advisory businesses and has a strong track record of growing businesses and building high-performing teams. He’s a hands-on leader with well-developed networks and a chartered accountant with financial advisory experience. Kip is passionate about financial inclusion, education and empowerment.

For the past 3 years Kip has been the Group CEO for New Zealand Home Loans responsible for the overall strategic direction & execution, performance and culture of a multi brand  500 person nationwide Financial Advice business.

Maia Jackman

Māia Jackman MNZM

Māia Jackman, MNZM is a former Football Ferns captain with a 20-year international career, 50 caps, and selection to the FIFA World All-Stars team. She is now a Performance Team Leader at High Performance Sport NZ, leading multidisciplinary teams to support athletes and coaches across multiple national sporting organisations.

Māia also serves on the FIFA Players’ Voice Panel, contributing to global anti-racism efforts, and sits on the Board of Northern Region Football. With a background in physiotherapy and sport science, she brings lived experience and practical leadership grounded in performance, wellbeing, and people. Māia is also a proud mum and partner.

Mark Peterson

Mark Peterson

Mark joined NZX in May 2015 and became Chief Executive in April 2017. He has 30 years’ experience in financial services covering the capital markets, private wealth, institutional and retail banking, and insurance.

Mark previously worked as the Managing Principal of ANZ Securities, and before that held senior management roles with First NZ Capital, ANZ and The National Bank of NZ.

Simon Shepherd

Simon Shepherd - MC

An experienced news and current affairs broadcast journalist who understands the importance of compelling storytelling. Simon is currently the host of The NBR Podcast where he engages in critical conversations with CEO’s and political leaders and breaks down complex business and world issues.

Simon’s previous role was as the host of the weekly political/current affairs interview programme Newshub Nation for 5 years on TV 3, where he covered political issues, two elections and one pandemic!  Other roles included weekend news presenting and reporting for 60 Minutes and Campbell Live.

Innovation excites him and he has recently completed a Masters in Change and Organisational Resilience, specialising in the impact of Artificial Intelligence on a newsroom during NZ’s 2023 election.
