Meet our Speakers

Kevin Mercer

Kevin Mercer

Kevin Mercer is the Chief Executive Officer of St Vincent de Paul Society Queensland, leading one of the state’s largest community service organisations supporting Queenslanders experiencing hardship, homelessness, and disadvantage. With more than three decades of executive experience across corporate, non-for-profit and community sectors, Kevin brings a strategic and values-driven leadership approach focused on purpose, innovation, and impact.

Under his leadership, Vinnies QLD has strengthened its governance frameworks, expanded its housing and homelessness response, expanded community services across the state, and deepened partnerships with government, business, and the not-for-profit sector to address the growing cost-of-living and housing challenges facing Queenslanders. Kevin is passionate about social justice, sustainable community solutions, and empowering people to live with dignity, hope, and independence.

Matt Kratiuk

Matt Kratiuk

Matt Kratiuk is the Chief Growth Officer at TACTIC, a national workplace services firm headquartered in Brisbane and one of Australia’s fastest-growing companies in the office sector.

Over the past decade, Matt has held executive leadership positions across some of Australia’s most respected organisations — including an ASX Top 200 company — and founded a successful multi-million-dollar digital start-up.

Now in his seventh year as a Brand Ambassador for the Vinnies CEO Sleepout, Matt holds the record as the highest team fundraiser in the event’s history, having raised more than $1.8 million to support Australians experiencing homelessness.

This is quite the achievement considering that thirteen years ago, he was a homeless ice addict of 15 years, living in a park and on the brink of suicide. Matt's transformation from addiction and homelessness to corporate leadership and social impact stands as a powerful testament to resilience, purpose, and the possibility of change.

Bonnie Hancock

Bonnie Hancock

As the fastest and youngest person in history to paddle around Australia, Bonnie Hancock faced sharks and crocodiles the size of her ski, but it wasn’t the physical challenges which provided the most growth.

Not willing to settle in the comfort zone, Bonnie has embraced challenges both on and off the water throughout her career. Using the discipline and resilience learnt in her time as a professional ironwoman, she has not only broken multiple Guinness  World Records, but also published a bestselling book with Harper Collins, created a documentary for Fox and Kayo about the journey, and presented a TED talk on lessons from Mother Nature.

As an inspiring and candid storyteller, Bonnie invites audiences to dive into an adventure of captivating, terrifying, and life-changing moments of growth from her journey, imploring others to look at their own ambitions and ask, “Why Not?”.

Bonnie has enjoyed sharing her story with a wide array of audiences including Sunglasses Hut, Queensland Rail, Gold Coast Suns, Channel 7 and Body Science.
