David has worked extensively in international business for over 20 years at the highest levels, including CEO, President and Partner in both corporate and private enterprises in countries including Japan, USA, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan, Korea as well as Hong Kong.

David has founded a number of successful businesses in Australia and internationally, predominantly in the technology space.

Since returning to Australia, David has continued to remain active in business and has also entered academia to focus on building entrepreneurial capacity and developing the next wave of innovators. He takes great satisfaction in assisting his postgraduate and undergraduate students launch and grow their own businesses across the globe. He holds a PhD in Management Innovation from the Graduate School of Business at the University of Newcastle.

David is the founder and former director of the internationally acclaimed ‘Fastrack Innovation Program’, that eschews traditional business planning approaches to start-up; instead offering amazing young talent an immersive, critical problem-solving approach to translating nascent innovations into commercial realities. He previously served as Director of the Bachelor of Business (Entrepreneurship) at RMIT University and recently joined Monash School of Business as Professor and Director of Entrepreneurship to build an entrepreneurial community around the incredible knowledge capital residing in one of Australia’s world-leading universities.

David has published extensively in the fields of Innovation, Digital Technologies and Rapid Prototyping, Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Learning.
