Jim Cock has built a diverse and accomplished career spanning geographies, industries, and disciplines. With deep expertise in financial services, corporate leadership, and strategic advisory, Jim is known for his collaborative leadership style and future focused thinking.

Jim has led multiple financial services businesses as a Managing Director with GE Capital and served on the boards of numerous organisations. His senior executive tenure at General Electric provided him with world-class leadership development within a strong performance-driven culture. During this time, Jim led and participated in numerous business acquisitions and integrations, applying Six Sigma disciplines and tools to drive effective outcomes.

Jim also served as General Electric’s Ombudsman for Australia and New Zealand, and sat on the boards of several GE entities, including the APRA-regulated insurance company Hallmark. He was Chair of the asset finance firm Iron Capital and continues to serve on the board of Now Finance Group, a specialist consumer lender. In addition to his corporate governance roles, he has contributed to higher education through lecturing at Swinburne University.

Jim's passion for business extends beyond large corporations. Jim has advised a wide range of SMEs and startups across industries, including architecture - experience which led him to become Chief Operating Officer at PTID, a leading design firm. Jim began his professional journey in law, starting in Adelaide and progressing to become a Senior Associate in the Banking & Finance Group at Minter Ellison in Melbourne.

Jim holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Economics with an Accounting major, a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice, and a Graduate Diploma in Securities Law. Curious about how businesses and economies operate, Jim has been a long-standing member of the CEO Institute for over 14 years. He remains committed to helping organisations become their best selves, guided by sharp strategic insight and a commitment to meaningful impact.

Outside of his professional life, Jim enjoys tennis, good food, wine (ideally while on holiday with his family), and stand-up paddleboard surfing.
