Mary’s executive career expanded from working in a laboratory, through sales and marketing, and general management roles to global business unit leadership positions in a number of industrial sector businesses. In the engineering, mining services, and packaging spheres, she had responsibility for manufacturing, supply chain, and sales operations in diverse geographies and cultures, with extensive experience in Asia.

Subsequently, Mary has embarked on a portfolio career encompassing mentoring advisory and non-executive director roles. A long-term colleague stated, “She has a unique mix of business acumen, wisdom, strength of character, financial savvy, technical knowhow and leadership attributes gained in different industry settings and geographies. This, combined with Mary’s experience leading varied organisations as an MD, enables her to add great value as a trusted adviser and mentor.”

Mary's diversity of board and executive roles brings deep commercial acumen, insightful review, sound judgement, a passion for R&D, extensive people leadership in an international context, a good understanding of digital and an ability to draw from a broad spectrum of experience bringing new ideas and solutions. She is experienced in safety and sustainability, green field development, initiating and integrating acquisitions to achieve strategic priorities, operational and technical risk management and strategy development and execution.

During her career, Mary has worked with SME’s to large multinationals. She has worked with private companies, private equity held firms and listed entities. She has involvement in all phases, from start-up to IPO, rapid growth, to closure and sale of business.
