When you are responsible for everything from people and performance to budgets, the board and member expectations, leadership development needs to be relevant and practical. The Leadership Program brings CEOs of smaller clubs together to strengthen the skills, judgement and confidence needed to lead effectively.

WHO IT IS FOR 

Designed for the demands of smaller clubs 

The program is designed for club CEOs who carry broad organisational responsibility, often with limited executive or specialist support. It is an opportunity to build core leadership capability while learning alongside peers who understand the demands of serving a club and its community. 
FORMAT 

Practical leadership development over 12 months 


Join a dedicated cohort of up to 15 club CEOs for 12 live, facilitated virtual sessions, each lasting two hours. Experienced leadership facilitators and specialist contributors bring relevant perspectives and tools to the discussion. Between sessions, participants apply their learning to current challenges inside their clubs. 

Format: 12 × two-hour live virtual sessions over 12 months 

Cohort: Up to 15 CEOs per cohort 

Recognition: Certified Manager (Cert. M) upon successful completion if eligibility requirements are met

OUTCOMES 

What you will work on 

The final learning objectives will be aligned with ClubsNSW priorities and the needs of each cohort. Illustrative focus areas include: 

• Leading yourself: self-awareness, resilience and judgement under pressure. 

• Leading people: communication, accountability, delegation and difficult conversations. 

• Leading the club: strategic thinking, commercial confidence, prioritisation and change. 

• Leading with trust: board relationships, ethical leadership, governance and stakeholder confidence.

Learn, apply, reflect 

Each month begins with a current leadership challenge or decision. Participants explore fresh thinking, test practical approaches with peers, commit to an action and reflect on how it has worked within their club.

Eligible ClubsNSW member clubs can access a 12.5% partnership discount on The Leadership Program. Participation requirements and intake availability will be confirmed by our team after registration.

Complete the registration form to formally commit to joining the program. By submitting this form, you are confirming your intention to enrol and accepting the associated financial commitment. A member of The CEO Institute team will contact you to confirm your program details, commencement date and invoicing arrangements. No payment is required at the time of registration.
